Cost centers

This data object manages information on cost centers in the company, including their hierarchical structure, validity periods and persons responsible. It serves as a central reference for the allocation of costs in various business processes and enables detailed cost analysis. The cost centers can be selected in other areas of the system and used for postings, whereby visual representations are also supported by color and pattern specifications.

Cost Center

Information on the data record’s identification is entered in this section.

Property	Description
Description	Enter a descriptive long text for the cost center here, e.g. to provide information on what the cost center is to be used for.
Parent cost center	Here you can select the higher-level cost center to map the hierarchical structure of your cost accounting. This assignment makes it possible to aggregate costs at different levels and carry out detailed evaluations according to cost center hierarchies.
External Code	If the cost center is imported or exported, the external code is stored here.
Internal ID (Data ID)	The internal ID, or data ID, is used within the application to uniquely identify the data record.
Code	Enter the internal abbreviation of the cost center here. This unique abbreviation is used to quickly identify and allocate costs within the company structure. Correct entry is essential for accurate cost accounting and budgeting.
Cost Center Type	Cost Center Type
Name	Enter the full name of the cost center.
Hierarchy	If the cost center is structured hierarchically, the higher-level cost center can be entered here.
Company Code	Enter the name of the accounting area in which the cost center is valid.
Billable	Indicate whether the cost center is basically deemed to be projectable. Uncheck the checkbox if the cost center is temporarily not projectable.
Different financial accounting cost center	If your company uses a different cost center in financial accounting instead of this one, you can enter the cost center used in financial accounting here. When transferring postings to financial accounting, the cost centers are swapped.

Cost Center Originator

The company that the cost center uses is entered here.

Property	Description
Company	Select the company in which the cost center is valid.
Department	Select the department to which this cost center is assigned.

List of Cost Center Responsibles

The cost center managers are displayed in this info area.

Buildings

If the cost center has been assigned to a building, the building is displayed here. The entire costs for the building will then be settled by the cost center.

Identification in CAD Visualizations

If you use eTASK.CAD and the cost center is to be visualized in CAD plans, you can enter information on how the cost center is represented in a CAD visualization here.

Property	Description
Pattern	Enter the number of the pattern in CAD visualization (from "1" to "77").
Foreground Color	Enter the number of the foreground color in CAD visualization (from "0" to "119").
Background Color	Enter the number of the background color in CAD visualization (from "0" to "119").

All room parts assigned to the cost center are displayed in this section. Click the button "Add Room Part" to assign further room parts.
