Supported Microsoft SQL Server Versions

!! Due to a technical change, this release cannot be installed on SQL Server 2016.

We continue to support SQL Server versions 2017, 2019, and 2022. Do you need assistance with the migration? Please feel free to contact our Projektteam@etask.de!

Note regarding Microsoft SQL Server Express Edition

Some new features require the use of SQL Server Express Edition with Advanced Service. If you are only using SQL Server Express Edition, please contact us at Projektteam@etask.de for assistance with the migration to Advanced Service.

Users of the eTASK app for Windows

With the release of this update, a current version of the eTASK app has also been released in the Microsoft Store. Please note that this current app version is compatible exclusively with the latest release version of the portal; that is, both the portal AND all connected mobile devices must be updated.

Therefore, please update your mobile devices only if you also plan to update your portal to the current release at the same time. If this is not desired or possible, please disable the automatic installation of updates for the eTASK app on your devices. Please note, however, that after a previous update of your portal, your devices must also be updated to the current app version.

Please make sure to sync your mobile devices before the update.

Users of the eTASK Add-in for Revit

With the release of this update, a current version of the eTASK Add-in has been made available in the Customer Center. Please update your eTASK Add-in for Revit to the latest version.

!! Starting with the July 2024 release, we will discontinue support for Revit versions 2019 and 2020. If you have any questions regarding this, please contact your account manager at Projektteam@etask.de.

"Workstations" Dashboard Tile

Improvement: Clearer display of workstation groups

The "Workstations" tile on your eTASK.FM portal dashboard provides an overview of your workstations. Workstations that belong to a workstation group and are therefore available for flexible use are now displayed as occupied, as they are not available for fixed assignments. Similarly, workstations for which the "Workstation Active" option is not enabled or that have been deactivated by an administrator are not displayed as bookable workstations. The planned booking of a workstation group can be viewed in the "Workstation Group Booking Status" report under "Basic Data - Employee Management - Workstations." The actual utilization of workstations within a workstation group can be tracked in the eTASK.DeskSharing product based on the bookings.

eTASK DeskSharing

Improvement: Visual support for booking workstations

You can book workstations using your eTASK.DeskSharing. If you also use eTASK.BIM, you can view the workstations in a BIM model using the magnifying glass. With this release, the workstation is visually highlighted in the floor plan view so that it is immediately recognizable.

eTASK BIM

Improvement: Improved subsequent loading of objects

You can choose whether all associated objects should be loaded immediately when opening a BIM model, or only later. We have now optimized the subsequent loading of objects for you. Your models can now be loaded reliably and display all objects at the desired time.

eTASK Operating Cost Accounting

Bug Fix: Multiple operating cost statements for a single location can now be exported to cost accounting

Previously, there was an issue when exporting operating cost statements to Cost Accounting if they belonged to two companies at the same location. We have now resolved this issue for you, so you can export your statements as usual again, even for companies that share a location.

eTASK Cost Entry

New Feature: Transfer Postings to the FM Portal via Excel Import

With this release, you can conveniently transfer your transfer postings to your eTASK.FM portal via Excel import. To do this, prepare your data in Excel for import and, after importing, activate the "Start Imported Transfer Postings" action. Make sure that the system parameter "GlWorkflowStepFollowSwitch" is enabled.

Bug fix: Write-offs are now displayed correctly everywhere

Using journal entries, you can close open items for accounts receivable and accounts payable in your eTASK.FM portal and thus settle them. These closing entries can be assigned to an invoice, a lease agreement, or an opening balance. Previously, the closing entry was suggested as an open item during payment allocation. We have fixed this issue. The write-off is now assigned to the associated item during payment allocation and is no longer displayed as a separate item. In the account statement for your accounts receivable and accounts payable, the write-off is now also displayed directly under the associated item.

Improvement: Direct display of due dates for recurring invoices

Previously, when you created new due dates for your recurring invoices, you had to reload the record to see the new dates. We have now simplified this process for you. The newly created due dates are automatically displayed directly in the recurring invoice.

eTASK Rental

Bug Fix: Rental Agreement List Now Complete Again

Lease agreements were no longer displayed in the lease agreement list on the last day of their term. We have fixed this issue so that all your lease agreements are once again available in the lease agreement list.

eTASK Service Ticket

New Feature: Linking BCF Files, Service Tickets, and Defect Management

With this release, you can better link tasks related to your construction projects and thus manage them more efficiently. You can send your BCF files to your eTASK.FM portal, where they are created as service tickets. Once created, you can use and edit them as usual. Additionally, you can now link your service tickets to eTASK Defect Management. Trigger defect reports directly from your service tickets and keep track of all your tasks. All three processes are fully integrated and interact with each other through notifications and status updates. If you’re interested in better integrating your processes with eTASK, please contact your account manager.

Bug Fix: Building and Room Fields Are Now Automatically Populated

When creating service tickets, the "Building" and "Room" fields are automatically populated based on the settings in the personnel record of the person creating the service ticket. After the last release, these fields were no longer filled automatically. With this release, we have fixed this issue, so you can now once again benefit from the pre-filled fields as usual.

eTASK Room Reservation

Bug fix: Improved scroll bar in the quick booking form

(Customer reference: CAFMBT-224)

When using the quick booking form with a browser zoom level that was not exactly 100%, a scroll bar would appear that partially obscured the resource selection. We have fixed this issue for you. All options are visible at all times.

eTASK FM Portal

Bug fix: Display of date fields including time in lists

Your eTASK.FM portal contains several lists with columns displaying dates and times. Previously, these columns were often truncated and could not be widened. These columns are now set to a wider default and can also be adjusted manually.

Bug fix: Minor issue resolved when restarting the application

In some installations of the FM Portal, the system parameter "DEFAULTSECTIONCLASS" was created and then deleted again in the system configuration every time the application was restarted. This change was saved in the data record archive. We have fixed this issue for you with this release.

Bug fix: Auto-login is working again

In your eTASK.FM portal, you have the option to enable auto-login. This automatically logs you in with your user account when you access your portal. This login feature was temporarily unavailable. With this release, we have restored auto-login for you.

Bug Fix: All reports can be opened again

In your eTASK.FM portal, you can access reports from various forms. For a short time, it was not possible to open reports in PDF format. We have fixed this issue for you with this release. You can now use all reports as usual.

Bug fix: Improved use of selection fields

In your eTASK.FM portal, there are selection fields that depend on other preceding selection fields. For example, once you have selected a building, only the floors assigned to that building will be displayed when selecting floors. Previously, there was an issue where deselecting the main value—such as the building—caused an error if subordinate values, like the floor, had already been selected. From now on, selecting a new main value or deselecting the main value will also deselect the subordinate value, allowing you to continue working and select new values without an error message.

Bug Fixes: Resolved several issues related to dynamic attributes

(Customer Reference: CAFMBT-262 | CAFMBT-274 | CAFMBT-301)

Import: In your eTASK FM portal, you have the option to import dynamic fields. Previously, there were issues with the use of selection values when importing selection fields. This led to a problem when accessing the affected lists. We have resolved this issue in this release, so you can now import and use all types of dynamic fields without any problems. Subsequent modification of selection values: If you subsequently change or delete selection values that have already been used in some records, they will also be adjusted or removed there. Previously, there was an issue where the old values were still displayed in the list of records, even though the values had been removed from the record form. With this release, we ensure that the values displayed in the list of records and in the record form are always identical.

Bug Fix: Object List: Excel Export for Data Update Works Again

In your eTASK.FM portal, you have the option to download import templates that contain your records. You can use these to make changes to your data and then import them back into your FM portal. Exporting this template was temporarily not working for records from the object list. We have fixed this issue so that you can download your import templates again as usual.

Bug Fix: Improved Error Message When Accessing Deleted Records

If you try to access deleted files via an outdated link, you will now receive a clearer error message: "Record not found—it may have been deleted in the meantime!" This makes it easier for you to understand why you cannot open the record.

Troubleshooting: Determining the coordinates of a building with MapQuest

Due to changes in the MapQuest API, it was temporarily impossible to determine a building’s coordinates based on its address. eTASK now uses the latest MapQuest API version, so this feature is available again. Customers interested in the map feature must register with both MapQuest and Mapbox. For more information, see the system configuration under the search term "OSM" or the system parameter "MAPBOX_ACCESS_TOKEN".

Troubleshooting: Excel export from form fields is working again

Your eTASK.FM portal provides several forms that contain lists of other data records. You can download these lists as Excel files. In the meantime, issues arose when downloading these Excel files. We have resolved this issue with this release, so the download function is now available again as usual.

Bug fix: Import for rooms is working again

Among other things, you can use the Excel import to import rooms into your eTASK.FM portal. During this import, issues arose with the "Room Height" field. We have resolved this issue for you with this release, so you can import your rooms as usual.

Bug Fix: Workflow Substitutes Now Support Very Long Names

When using workflows, you have the option to specify substitutes for workflow owners. Previously, the combination of first name, last name, and username could not exceed 100 characters. We have now updated the substitute feature so that people with very long names can also be entered.

Improvement: Faster Search in Lists

The search function has been further optimized so that users can now choose whether to search a list column by column as before, or to use full-text search. Full-text search provides faster results, but only allows searching for complete words. You can enable full-text search in a list by checking the box next to the "Search" button. As an administrator, the new "USEFULLTEXT" system parameter allows you to choose whether to enable full-text search by default across the entire portal (checkbox active upon loading) or not. Full-text search is only available if the SQL Server has the "Full-Text Catalog" feature enabled. The following tables have been optimized for use with full-text search due to their size:

  • Personnel List

  • Rooms

  • Record Archive

  • Objects

  • Incoming Invoices

  • Contracts

Improvement: Improvement in the use of group licenses / wildcards

(Customer reference: CAFMTT-130)

You have the option to purchase a group license for your eTASK.FM portal, which allows you to create your own portals and addresses within the same domain. There were some limitations with this, and it did not work in all environments. We have made the processing of issued licenses in this environment more robust, so that you can now create your portals more easily.

Improvement: Automatic logout is now more robust

(Customer Reference: CAFMTT-130)

In your user profile, you can specify the period of inactivity after which you will be automatically logged out of your eTASK.FM portal. Previously, if you logged in via SAML or OAuth, you were automatically logged out after a maximum of 2 hours. With this release, the automatic session end for these login options is now based on the time set in your user profile.

Improvement: eTASK API now handles required fields better

Using the eTASK API, you can develop your own procedures to import data into your eTASK.FM portal. Our API now requires that fields which are mandatory in our FM portal must also be filled in the API. This prevents issues when transferring data to the FM portal.

Improvement: Better traceability of changes made via Excel import

(Customer reference: CAFMBT-270)

Previously, when records were modified via the Excel import, the modification date for all elements of that record was updated to the time of the import. With this release, the modification date is now only reset for elements that were actually changed by the Excel import. All other elements retain their previous modification date. The "modified by" field is also only updated if the element was actually modified.

Improvement: Improvement in the saving of personalized views

(Customer reference: CAFMBT-261)

In your eTASK.FM portal, you can customize your tables and lists according to your preferences and save them for future use. The order in which the columns are displayed is now also taken into account.

See also: 📄 Personalisierte Ansicht einer Tabelle/Auswertungen erstellen IC2327

Improvement: Deleted buildings are no longer included in the data reporting for your buildings

Your eTASK.FM portal provides you with an overview of all data related to your buildings. Using this overview, you can check how complete the data for your buildings is and where you can still add information. When you delete a building from your eTASK.FM portal, this overview is now also updated, and all associated data is removed. This ensures that the completeness of your data is not affected by deleted buildings.

Improvement: Switch from ADAL to MSAL for Microsoft login

In your eTASK.FM portal, you have the option to sign in using your Microsoft account. When using Microsoft Azure AD—recently renamed Microsoft Entra ID—we previously used the ADAL standard. With this release, however, we have switched to the more modern and secure MSAL standard.

Improvement: Accessibility improvements

(Customer reference: CAFMCAB-19)

With this release, we have improved the accessibility of several elements of your eTASK.FM portal.

Better contrast In some areas of the portal, we have increased the contrast between text and background to make it more visually noticeable. This primarily affects areas that are disabled for editing and are read-only.

Mouse-Free Navigation We have optimized the portal for keyboard use. In your user profile, you now have the option "Enable Visual Focus." When this option is enabled, a visual focus is placed at the location in the portal where you are currently located. In addition, you can now always use the Escape key to navigate back to the menu or the tab bar, allowing you to exit the form at any time. We have also improved keyboard navigation within the forms for you. Navigating to elements now follows the logical structure of the form. Expanding and collapsing individual sections is now also possible via the keyboard.

Improvement: External websites can now be opened from the FM portal in a new tab

(Customer reference: CAFMBT-305)

In some places within your eTASK.FM portal, you have the option to add links to external websites. External URLs can be entered in certain static fields, such as the "Website" field in the "Companies and Addresses" form, or in dynamic text fields where the "is a URL" setting is checked. The URL must always be entered in full, e.g., "https://www.etask.de". However, most browsers do not support opening external websites within your FM portal. For this reason, all external websites will now open in a new tab within your browser.

Improvement: Improvements related to uploading and downloading photos

In your eTASK.FM portal, you can use the photo viewer to upload image files to your records. There was a problem with downloading these image files. We have fixed this issue, so you can once again use your photo viewer as usual for both uploading and downloading photos. In addition, we have increased the maximum size of image files you can upload to 20MB.

Improvement: Improved management of communication data related to HSE officers

(Customer reference: CAFMCAB-134)

With this release, you have the option to store additional communication data for your HSE officers. In addition to the personal contact information from the personnel list, you can now also store additional contact details for the designated person in the "Anonymized Communication" section. For example, you can create a phone number for all HSE officers in a building and store it for all officers. Additionally, you can sort and filter the master list of people by HSE functions, thereby compiling all relevant contact data for a specific HSE function.

eTASK Key Management

Improvement: "Key Audit" report enhanced for you

(Customer Reference: CAFMBT-282)

Keys can now be issued not only to individuals but also to a department, a cost center, or a company. Additionally, they can be assigned to lease agreements. With this release, we have updated the "Key Audit" report for you accordingly, so that it now accounts for all types of issuances. In the upcoming release, we will update additional reports in your key management system for you.

eTASK Inventory

Bug fix: Default match codes are no longer created automatically

(Customer Reference: CAFMBT-280)

Previously, standard match codes were automatically created for your object types during updates to your eTASK.FM portal. However, to give you the flexibility to decide which object types you want to create standard match codes for and which you do not, we have changed this process. With this release, the automatic creation of standard match codes has been suspended. You can still create them manually for your object types.
