Create a company-specific G/L chart of accounts

Before you can start using eTASK.Property-Management, you must first create a chart of accounts. eTASK allows users to create their own charts of accounts and assign them to the company.

Note: The default setting in the FM Portal is STD/Standard for all general ledger accounts. The chart of accounts is configured at the company level.

With this feature, you can create as many general ledger accounts and charts of accounts as you like without losing track of things when entering data (e.g., invoice line items).

Prerequisite

  • You have administrator rights in the portal.

  • The company already exists in the system.

Procedure in the FM Portal

Path to the starting point: System Settings - Property Management - Property Accounting/Cost Entry - General Ledger Chart of Accounts - Chart of Accounts

  1. Click New....

  2. Enter a code and a description.

  3. Click Save.

  4. Go to Control Panel - Property Management - Property Accounting/Cost Entry - Chart of Accounts - General Ledger Accounts and open the relevant general ledger account.

  5. In the "Use in G/L Account Framework" section, select the G/L account framework to be used by checking the box.

  6. Go to Control Panel - Basic Data - Basic Information - Companies.

  7. Open an existing company by clicking the Edit button, or alternatively, create a new company by clicking New....

  9. In the Company section, select the chart of accounts you created instead of the default STD/Standard.

  10. Click Save.
