Features in forms

Navigation to this function

In this form, you define how the previously defined dynamic features are used in the forms. You can show the same feature multiple times in different forms. In doing so, eTASK uses the central structure and always displays dynamic characteristics that are used multiple times in the same form if they are not arranged in static info areas.

Identification

Information on the identification of the data record is stored in this info area.
PropertyDescription
FeatureAt this point you select the feature that you want to assign to a form.
Internal ID (Data ID)The internal ID or data ID is used within the application to uniquely identify the data record

Display in the form

This is where you configure the form and form area in which the feature is to be displayed.
PropertyDescription
FormHere you specify in which form your feature should be added.
Static area (optional)If you have already selected a form in which you want to set up the characteristic, you can decide here whether this characteristic should be inserted in one of the existing static info areas. If you leave this option blank, the dynamic characteristic will be inserted in its own area based on its structure.

Type filter

You can use type filters to restrict whether this characteristic should always be displayed in the form or only if the static characteristic stored in the type filter has a certain value. For example, you can only display the dynamic feature "Number of group rooms" in your form if the static feature "Building function" has the value "Kindergarten". This function is limited to one type per form. The type filter can only be used with static features of the "Selection" data type.
PropertyDescription
Type filter Selection fieldSelection of a feature from the previously selected form. Only features that are of the "Selection" data type are displayed. A type filter is set up for the feature selected here.

Type filter value

If you have already set up a type filter for your feature, you have the option here of specifying one of the possible selection values from this static feature to which the type filter should apply. For example, you select "Kindergarten" here if you only want to see the number of group rooms for this building type, as described in the example above.

Basic settings

This area includes all setting options that are possible for features of all data types.
PropertyDescription
CanceledAt this point, you specify whether the feature in the form has been discontinued and should no longer be available in the future. A discontinued feature will receive a note indicating this fact. Announcing a feature is the first step towards deleting it later. You should then make it invisible and then delete it if no one has lodged a complaint in the meantime. If the same feature is also used in other forms, the setting has no effect on these features.
Mandatory fieldHere you can specify whether a characteristic is defined as mandatory information. Mandatory fields are highlighted in color and have an asterisk (*) next to their name. If a dynamic characteristic marked as mandatory is not assigned a value, this prevents it from being saved, just as would be the case with a static characteristic.

List view settings

This area includes all setting options that are possible for the display of features within list views and searches.
PropertyDescription
Display in searchWith this setting, you specify whether the dynamic feature should be displayed at the position defined below each time the basic view of a list/search is loaded. If the option is not active, you can show the feature at any time in the search, just like a static feature. This setting also affects saved user-specific views of lists and expands them to include the fields that you consider important enough for permanent display. Use this function with caution. You can display dynamic features in a list at any time and save them for yourself.
Display position in list viewIf the "Display in search" option is activated, you can use this value to specify the position in the list/search at which the dynamic feature is displayed. Static characteristics in this position are pushed to the back, as explained in the example of the "Display position in static area". If no position is specified, all characteristics to which this applies are appended to the end of the list in random order.

Form view settings

This area summarizes all settings that are possible for the display of characteristics within a form.
PropertyDescription
Display in formHere you define whether the feature should be visible in the form or not. Visible features are displayed in static or dynamic areas, depending on the selection under "Display in form".
Display position in the info areaYou use this number to specify the position in the dynamic or the previously selected static area of the form at which this feature is displayed. Static features are displaced to the next available position by this specification. For example, if you insert a dynamic characteristic into an area with 2 static characteristics at position 2, the 2nd static characteristic is automatically displaced to position 3. If you insert another dynamic characteristic in position 3, the 2nd static characteristic moves to position 4. If you insert the two dynamic characteristics in positions 1 and 2 instead, the 1st static characteristic moves to position 3 and the 2nd to position 4. In the dynamic area, which cannot contain any static characteristics, only the order in which they are displayed is decisive. Characteristics in the same order are sorted randomly and should be avoided.

Settings for number fields

This area summarizes all settings that are possible for features with the data type "Number".
PropertyDescription
Display decimal placesThis setting determines whether or not zeros should be displayed in the decimal point area. If the option is activated, a 3.00 is displayed as such with two decimal places. If the option is activated after, the same value is displayed as 3.
Negative figures allowSpecify here whether values smaller than 0 can be entered in the number field. Note the interaction with the "largest permitted value". If this is less than 0 and no negative numbers are permitted, no value can be entered.
Number of decimal placesHere you define how many decimal places are taken into account for the number field. Entries with a higher precision are truncated.
smallest permitted valueSpecify here which is the smallest number allowed for input in a form. Note the interaction with the "Allow negative numbers" setting.
Maximum permitted valueSpecify here which is the largest permitted number when entering in a form. Note the interaction with the "Allow negative numbers" setting. If only negative values are permitted, the largest permitted value can also be 0.

Settings for text fields

This area summarizes all settings that are possible for features with the data type "Text".
PropertyDescription
regular expressionYou can use a regular expression to specify which content is permitted in a characteristic and which is not. For example, you can specify the format of a license plate number or the permitted characters of a telephone number in advance and prevent incorrect entries. Make sure that you provide a reference to the expected value in the feature definition.
Note for regular expressionIf a value is entered in a text input field with a stored regular expression that does not correspond to the rules of the regular expression, the user receives this message so that they can correct their input. Describe the possible content of the regular expression here and preferably also provide one or more examples.
only unique valuesSpecify here whether each value for this dynamic characteristic may only occur once across all forms, e.g. for a serial number or a MAC address.

Settings for selection fields

This area summarizes all settings that are possible for features with the data type "Selection".
PropertyDescription
Link to the catalogWith this option, you can specify whether a direct link to the catalog entry should be offered for a feature of the "Selection" data type. This allows users to navigate to the master data of a cost centre after selecting it, for example, provided they have the appropriate authorization.

Settings for date fields

This area summarizes all settings that are possible for features with the data type "Date".
PropertyDescription
smallest permitted dateSpecify here which is the smallest date allowed for entry in a form.
Default value "today"Specify here whether this characteristic of the data type "Date" should always be prefilled with the current date when a new data record is created.
Largest permitted dateSpecify here which is the largest date allowed for entry in a form.
