Object types in models

Navigation to this function

Control the processing of object types in your BIM models. Define here for each object type (IFC entity and eTASK object type) on a model-specific basis whether objects should be registered when imported into eTASK, displayed in the BIM Explorer and updated in the model via the BIM add-in. This configuration gives you full control over data import and model visualization.

identification

Assignment characteristics for the link between BIM model and object type. Here you define which object type is to be processed in which model and how.
PropertyDescription
ModelThe BIM model for which you are configuring object type processing. Each model can have different processing rules for the same object type.
object typeThe eTASK object type (e.g. door, window, radiator) that is imported from an IFC entity. You configure the model-specific processing for this object type.

Object processing

Control options for import, visualization and synchronization of the object type. Define whether objects should be registered in eTASK, displayed in the BIM Explorer and updated in the model.
PropertyDescription
Register in eTASK?Activate this option to register objects of this type as eTASK objects during static import. Registered objects are transferred to the CAFM database with all attributes and can be managed in eTASK. Without this option, objects are only visualized in the model, but not created as CAFM data records.
Filterable in BIMexplorer?Activate this option to make the object type filterable in the BIM Explorer. Users can then switch the visibility of this object type in the 3D viewer on and off using the filter function. This enables the targeted display of relevant objects and reduces visual complexity.
Load into BIMexplorer?Activate this option to automatically load and display objects of this type when the BIM Explorer is opened. Objects without this option are only loaded when the user explicitly activates it. Use this function for important object types that should be visible by default (e.g. rooms, doors) to optimize the initial loading time.
Update in model?Activate this option to update object properties of this type via the BIM addin in the authoring system (e.g. Revit, ArchiCAD). eTASK data is then written back into the model as IFC properties and can be displayed in the BIM software. This enables bidirectional data synchronization between CAFM and BIM.
