Restricting access rights to the menu and information areas can be beneficial for the following reasons:
Form loading speeds are improved. The fewer info areas that are enabled for the user group, the faster the form loads. This helps avoid long loading times.
Forms that contain a large number of fields in the default configuration (e.g., the “Rooms” form or employee records in the “Personnel List”) can be shortened by hiding information areas, making them significantly clearer and easier for users to navigate the FM portal. Hiding menu items also improves the overall clarity.
Assign exclusive rights to specific permission groups so that only the employees who are supposed to edit the relevant data can do so. If other groups are not permitted to maintain this data, you can ensure that they cannot edit it either.
If you use the eTASK.API, you must assign the appropriate API paths to the permission groups that are to have access to specific parts of the API; you can find these under Control Panel - Portal Options - Interfaces - eTASK.API. Simply grant users or permission groups access to these menu items.
