Timer jobs (Control Panel - Portal Options - Portal Administration - Timer Jobs - Job Management) periodically check the data entered into the system for various issues. For example, they check specific data records for missing data that could cause malfunctions, or trigger workflows when the trigger time is reached.

As a rule, timer jobs are executed automatically at the specified intervals. They can be enabled, disabled, or executed manually.

You can find a detailed description of a timer job in the respective record in Job Management.
