The Smart Report Designer is a powerful tool for creating reports directly within the user interface—without the need for additional software or plug-ins. For the first time, users can independently create, manage, and export professional, print-quality reports—with full integration into the eTASK data model and an intuitive user interface.
The Smart Report Designer marks the fourth pillar of eTASK reporting and replaces the previous Crystal Reports Designer with a modern, user-friendly system featuring an expanded range of functions.
Note: We recommend the Smart Report Designer for admins or power users who want to design reports and share them with colleagues.
The Report Designer at a Glance
Path to the starting point: System Settings – Portal Options – Custom Reports – Smart Report Designer
When creating or editing a report, you will be directed to the Report Designer:
Left: Toolbar with elements such as tables, charts, text fields, etc.
Center: Workspace for the report layout (page view).
Right: Access to the complete etask data model—including fields that may lie outside the licensed modules.
Tip: The Designer uses the terminology from the etask interface. Therefore, no database knowledge is required.
Advanced export functions
Compared to previous solutions, the Smart Report Designer offers significantly more export options:
Formats: PDF, Excel, Word, HTML, text, image formats, and many more.
Advanced settings: e.g., PDF versions, PDF/A support, attachment of XML data.
Digital forms: Reports can be provided as fillable PDFs (e.g., applications).
