Using the BIM Explorer, you can access BIM models of your buildings that have already been imported or import new models. This article explains the interface of the building view.
On the left, you’ll find the corresponding controls.

1 | Home | Click here to return to the building selection. | |
2 | Select Floor Plan | Select the two-dimensional floor plan of a floor here. | |
3 | Toggle objects | The IFC elements loaded into the building model are displayed here (e.g., "Window [IfcWindow]). Clicking on them allows you to show or hide them in the view. | |
4 | Toggle Floors | Select the floors you want to display. | |
5 | Views | Here you can show or hide different legends. Among other things, you can select the type of use according to DIN 277 or the floor covering as a view. | |
6 | Toggle object information | View details about the selected model object here. If the element has already been created as an object in the eTASK.FM portal, it can be accessed directly from the information window. Additionally, a service ticket can be created for selected objects. | |
7 | Clipping | Crop the building model here according to your requirements. You can crop the model from the top, bottom, left, right, front, and back. | |
8 | Eyecatcher | With this feature, you can arrange the floors side by side like drawers—either completely or partially—to see them all at a glance. | |
9 | Download | Download the building model or individual views in various formats. | |
10 | Floor Area Controls | Once you’ve selected the 3D view of a floor, you can add floor area information to the model view here. | |
10a | Show/Hide Stair Floor Plan | In your building model, you can decide whether to display a floor plan for the stairs in the model or not. Use this element to show or hide the floor plans for all stairs in the model. Example: You are in the floor plan view and the floor plan of a staircase overlaps with another object. Hide the staircase floor plan so you can see the other object clearly. Example: You are in the 3D view of your model and want to see the floor plan in addition to the three-dimensional view of the staircase. To do this, show the floor plan of the staircase using this button. | |
10b | Floor Area Controls - Show/Hide Room Areas | Use this to show or hide the room surfaces. | |
10c | Floor Plan Controls - Show/Hide Doors | Use this button to show or hide the doors. | |
10d | Floor Plan Controls - Show/Hide Label Texts | Use this button to show or hide room labels. Use the slider next to it to adjust the text height. | |
11 | Miscellaneous | Additional functions can be accessed here. | |
11a | Miscellaneous - Background Color | Change the model's background color here. | |
11b | Miscellaneous - Save Screen as Start Image | You can use this button to save the current view as the display image for the building view. | |
11c | Miscellaneous - Edit building | Here you can access Portfolio (BIM) - Property Cadastre - Building to edit the information stored for the building. | |
11d | Miscellaneous - Bookmark | Add a bookmark to the building. You will then find the building under MyFM as a favorite. | |
11e | Miscellaneous - Direct Link | Copy the link to the building model here to share it with someone. |
Tip: To zoom in and out of the model, simply use the scroll function. If you hold down the left mouse button, you can rotate the model. If you hold down the right mouse button, you can move the model within the current view.
