See below for the system requirements your computer must meet to ensure that eTASK BIM runs smoothly.
System Requirements for the Application Server
Operating System | Windows Server 2019 Windows Server 2022 Windows Server 2025 |
CPU | 4 CPUs |
RAM | 32 GB |
Hard disk space | 250 GB |
Software | Apache Tomcat, OpenJDK, BIMServer (the software products are provided by eTASK at no additional cost and installed on the server) |
Citrix / Igel / Slim Client | For environments with Citrix / Igel / Slim Clients, ensure that the server has a dedicated graphics card with sufficient performance, such as: https://pro.radeon.com/en/solutions/vdi/ |
Security | Transport Layer Security with at least TLS 1.2 Valid, trusted TLS certificate with PKI. The certificate is provided by the client. If a "self-signed" certificate is used, ensure that all clients trust this certificate (certificate infrastructure!) so that users are not warned by their browsers about an "invalid certificate." The certificate must be issued for the BIM server’s URL (e.g., “bimserver.abc.customer.de”). For use with Apache Tomcat, the complete “certificate chain” must be provided as a PFX file, including the private key and associated password. Please note the Java Runtime Environment’s limitation to a maximum of 2048-bit RSA keys. |
Communication | The BIM server communicates via the WebSocket protocol using port 443/TCP. Necessary permissions in firewalls, proxies, reverse proxies, or similar must be granted. An active internet connection is required for installation. |
Recommended minimum system requirements for the user
To ensure smooth operation with BIM models in the eTASK Portal, the following minimum system requirements are required for the end user’s PC:
Operating System | Current 64-bit Windows operating system (Windows 10 or later) |
RAM | 8 GB |
Graphics | A dedicated graphics card is recommended, as this significantly improves performance compared to an onboard graphics chip. |
Browser | WebGL-capable browser such as Mozilla Firefox (latest version), Google Chrome (latest version), or Microsoft Edge (latest version)* with support for ES6 (ECMAScript 2015) The best performance results are achieved with the latest versions of Firefox and Google Chrome.
