This master data table defines different types of software licenses (e.g. single user license, volume license, subscription). Each license type has a name. The table is part of Software Asset Management. Main purpose: Categorization of software licenses.
Identification
Basic identification features of the software license type, consisting of an internal ID and designation for unambiguous classification of the license model.| Property | Description |

Common license types are "single user license" (named user), "volume license" (multiple users), "concurrent license" (simultaneous users), "site license" (site license), "enterprise license" (company license), "subscription" (subscription), "perpetual license" (unlimited license), "OEM license", "open source", "freeware", "shareware". The license type determines usage rights, number of permitted installations and costs. |
