May 2025 Release Hotfix 3

This hotfix primarily addresses an issue related to the eTASK API and installations on a server without internet access. You need this update if you use applications that access the eTASK API or use the My eTASK app with the Inventory or Service Ticket modules.

Includes additional minor bug fixes

New Feature: Restrict Excel Export Function

Based on several reports from our customers, we have decided to allow you to restrict access to Excel exports in eTASK. This lets you decide whether users who have access to a list are also allowed to export it or create an import template. To set permissions, simply use the new "Excel Export" option when assigning "Rights to Menu Items." All selected entries where Excel functions can be used are marked with a corresponding icon in the permissions tree. This hotfix does not make any changes to existing permissions. Every permission previously assigned will automatically be supplemented with the right to use Excel functions, so you do not need to take any action if you do not wish to restrict these rights. Please note that this also affects the ability to create new Excel export reports, but not the ability to retrieve existing Excel export reports, as a separate permission can be assigned for the latter.

Bug Fix: API Crashes

A bug has been fixed that caused the eTASK API to mistakenly attempt to contact a data broker on an eTASK server when called, in order to log in there and retrieve data from the broker. This caused the eTASK API to crash if the calling server did not have internet access.

Bug Fix: JavaScript Error with "Reserve Workstation"

A JavaScript error has been fixed that could occur whenever the results list of the workstation search contained entries for workstations that were already occupied. In this context, eTASK has decided to no longer display workstations in the results list if they cannot be booked. There are two main reasons for this.

  1. Data Protection: Following numerous reports, it was decided last year to no longer display names for occupied workstations. However, this was the main reason for displaying such workstations—to allow for contact and discussion of rebooking if necessary. This feature is now only available to desk administrators with the appropriate permissions.

  2. Accessibility: The difference between active and inactive checkboxes was not sufficiently distinguishable, while inactive checkboxes previously did not meet the minimum contrast requirements.

Bug Fix: Incorrect display of the "Created by" column in the visitor list (general visitors)

(Customer reference: INC000006391175)

A bug has been fixed that prevented the correct user from being identified in some forms when creating a new record.

Bug fix: Default search for tables with word search

A bug has been fixed that caused the default search to no longer work reliably in tables configured for keyword search.

Bug fix: Excel functions and selection fields

A bug has been fixed that prevented columns from being created in Excel exports or Excel import templates that mapped a selection field to the calculation groups. This only affected forms that contained more than one of these selection fields at the same time.

Improvement: "Share" link in quick entries and calendars

All entry screens and entry calendars have been equipped with a "Share" button so that you can more easily direct other users to these pages.

Improvement: Incorrect entries in the "Modified by" / "Created by" columns in the data record archive

(Customer reference: INC000006790868)

A bug has been fixed that, in some cases, prevented all information from being written to the data record archive when a new data record was created.
