A layer is a type of digital transparent film that contains its own drawing information and is "placed" over a drawing. Layers can be used, for example, to switch the display of walls, cable routes or power lines in the building on and off in the drawing - depending on what information is required. Define the layer structure to be used in the CAD client here. If possible, add this definition to every tender as a specification for drawing work.

Identification

This feature group contains attributes for the unique identification and differentiation of layers in the system. It includes keys and identifiers that are essential for managing and referencing the layer entities.

Prefix	The prefix is a prefixed identifier that identifies the type or category of the layer. It is used for clear identification and facilitates the structuring and sorting of layers in area management. The selection of a suitable prefix is important for a consistent and clear organization of the layers.

Category Object Cadastre according to DIN 276	Selection of the category in the object register according to DIN 276 to which the objects contained in the layer are assigned.
Layer always on	Specifies whether this layer is a "public layer" that is displayed in all layer sets.

BIM export

This group contains features that are relevant for exporting layer information to BIM models. They control how layer data is displayed and processed in BIM software environments.

Property	Description
Display in BIM model?	Specifies whether this layer should be displayed in the BIM model. The setting influences the visibility of the layer when exporting to BIM formats and when displaying in BIM-compatible applications.
Export to BIM?	Specifies whether this layer should be included in the BIM export. Activation enables the layer information to be transferred to BIM models, which is important for integration in BIM workflows and collaboration with other trades.
