Installation of the plugin

An LDAP interface enables the import of personnel data into the FM Portal. Learn how to set up this interface here.

Prerequisite

  • Your organization uses Microsoft Active Directory.

  • You have administrator rights in the FM Portal.

  • You have a valid license for the eTASK.Personaldatenimport product.

  1. Log in to the eTASK Customer Center.

  2. Click on the plugin store.

  1. Select the eTASK.PersonnelDataImport extension from the list.

Tip: You can select the "Module" filter to find the interface.

  1. Click on Download.

  2. Now log in to the FM Portal.

  3. Now install the plugin via 1) System, 2) Install Plugin

  1. Select the downloaded plugin, check the box next to the Terms of Use, and click Install.

  2. In the FM Portal menu, go to Control Panel - Portal Options - Interfaces - Interface Configuration - LDAP - LDAP Systems

  3. Click New… to create a new record.

  4. In the Identification section, fill in the Code, Name, Order, and Type fields.

  1. Now fill in all fields in the Access Data section. Enter your domain controller under Server.

  2. Enter 636 in the Port field (TLS-secured connection).

  3. Check the Secure Connection box.

  4. In the "Access Data" section, enter an LDAP test account and assign a password. Use a user that exists in Active Directory.

  5. In the LDAP Import Configuration section, enter the user’s DN (distinguished name) and the user filter.

Example: For an Active Directory, enter the following in the User DN field: OU=CompanyName, DC=ServerName, DC=CompanyAbbreviation, DC=de (OU: Organizational Unit, DC: Domain Component)

  1. In the User Group Filter section, enter the group DN (distinguished name) and the user group filter.

Click Save in the toolbar.

  1. Set up the identifier in the LDAP Import Configuration section.

Note: We recommend the SAM account (Windows login name).

  1. Click Save in the toolbar.

Tip: Test the configured LDAP interface via Control Panel - Portal Options - Interfaces - Interface Configuration - LDAP - LDAP Connection Test

  1. Personnel data is updated via a timer job in the portal. To activate the timer job for your portal, go to the menu: Control Panel - Portal Options - Portal Administration - Timer Jobs - Job Management.

  2. Enter the search term ldap in the search bar at the top and click the magnifying glass icon.

  3. Click the Edit icon next to the Import.FromLdap list entry.

  4. Enable the timer job by checking the box in the Identification section next to the entry.

  1. In the "Execute Job Manually" section, click [Execute Job].

You have set up the interface for importing personnel data.
