  • No special announcements or notices need to be communicated

Important Notes

  1. Observe the
character limit The text should be no longer than 230 characters. Longer texts are automatically truncated and marked with ellipses (…). Be sure to place important information at the beginning.

  2. Regular updates
Check the text regularly to ensure it is up to date. Outdated maintenance notices or expired information can cause confusion and undermine user trust.

  3. Clear and understandable wording
Use clear, concise language. The message is seen by all users before they log in and should be easy to understand.

  4. Social media integration
The text is also included in meta tags for social media platforms (e.g., Teams) when links are shared. Ensure that the content makes sense in this context as well.

  5. No sensitive information
Since the text is publicly visible on the login page, it should not contain any confidential or security-related information.

Security

Does changing this parameter affect security?

No, changing this parameter has no direct impact on the system’s technical security.

Practical example

Initial situation: A company is planning system maintenance over the weekend. Users should be informed about the planned maintenance and the associated downtime as soon as they reach the login page.

Configuration: The INFOLOGIN parameter is set to the following text: "Maintenance work on December 25, 2025, from 8:00 PM to midnight. The portal will be unavailable during this time. For questions: support@firma.de"

After the change:

  • All users see the maintenance notice when they visit the login page

  • The information is visible even before logging in

  • Users can prepare for the downtime in advance

  • Support contact is directly available

Result: Reduction in support requests during maintenance, as users were proactively informed. Higher user satisfaction through transparent communication.

Alternative scenarios:

Scenario A - Seasonal greeting:

  • Text: "Merry Christmas! Our support team will be unavailable from December 24 to December 26. We wish you a wonderful holiday season!"

  • Creates a personal, friendly atmosphere

Scenario B – Important System Change:

  • Text: "New password policies effective January 1, 2026: At least 10 characters required. Please update your password after logging in."

  • Proactively informs about upcoming changes

For standard installations:Willkommen im eTASK-Portal Ihres Unternehmens. Aktuell liegen keine Meldungen für dieses Portal vor.(Default welcome message)

Reason:

  • Friendly, professional welcome text without specific information

  • Generically worded and suitable for all scenarios

  • Indicates that there are no special events

  • Allows for customization if needed

Exceptions (customization recommended):

  • Scheduled maintenance or system outages

  • Major changes to system policies or processes

  • Seasonal greetings or company anniversaries

  • Legal notices or compliance requirements

  • Support contact information for known issues

Tip: Update the text promptly after events or maintenance to avoid outdated information. A regular review (e.g., monthly) ensures that the text is always up-to-date and relevant.
