Hide 2D symbol for object

For some objects, such as doors, BIM Explorer displays icons. You can choose for each individual object whether these icons should be displayed in the building model or not. By default, the icons are displayed.

Example: A door is permanently locked and is not used as a door. Therefore, the door’s opening area does not need to be kept clear; for example, a cabinet can be placed there. Disable the display of the 2D symbol for this door.

Prerequisite

  • You have access rights to the object

Procedure in the FM Portal

Path to the starting point: Objects/Assets - Object List

  1. Open the object for which you want to hide the 2D symbol.

  2. Under Display, select the 2D Symbol option.

  3. Click Save in the toolbar.

The 2D symbol will no longer be displayed for this object in the BIM Explorer.

Tip: If you want to disable the 2D symbol for multiple objects, you can filter the object list accordingly and use the bulk edit feature. Follow the instructions on the right-hand side.
