After setup, you can verify your installation by following these steps.
Procedure in the FM Portal
Test view
The first test you should perform is to call up the portal’s URL. Any error messages that appear can provide insight into where the error is occurring.
Tip: A runtime error usually indicates a faulty connection to the database.
Note: A 404 error page indicates an incorrect configuration in IIS
Test Settings
Control Panel - Portal Options - Portal Administration - Portal Control - Test Settings tab
MSDTC Test: Here you can send a test email to the SMTP server configured in the portal. The configuration values used for this are noted in point 2
Test Email section: All relevant configuration values for the SMTP server stored in the portal are displayed here. These values can be changed under Control Panel - Portal Options - Portal Administration - System Configuration
SMTP Settings: Here you can check the SMTP settings
System Check
Control Panel - Portal Options - Portal Administration - Portal Maintenance - System Checks
Various checks are available here, such as testing the data structure or the report parameters of Crystal Reports.
IdentifyChecker
Control Panel - Portal Options - Portal Management - Portal Maintenance - Setup & Updater - eTASK.IdentifyChecker
The IdentifyChecker provides various details about the portal, such as the connection to the configured Exchange Server. This information is primarily used for setting up the SmartReservation module.
Configuration Check
Perform configuration check: Control Panel - Portal Options - Portal Configuration (Metadata) - ConfigCheck
Create property record for test room (with building and location)
Create a personnel record for a test user
Log in to the portal as the test user
