Note: This issue occurs in Revit. However, it can also occur when exporting BIM models from other modeling tools due to incorrect IFC settings.

When exporting a model from Revit, the IFC options are configured by default so that the gross floor area (GFA) of a level is stored as spaces (IfcSpace) in the IFC file:

As a result, the GFA is created as spaces after the model is imported into the eTASK portal. This causes the total floor area of a building to double or multiply. Consequently, area calculations are prone to errors.

Autodesk Revit

To prevent GFA from being exported from Revit, you can adjust the IFC settings: File → Export → Options → IFC Options. Under the Area section of the Revit category, all four components must be set to “Not Exported.” This excludes the GFA during the export process.
