Note: In the following, the terms "level," "floor," and "storey" are used interchangeably as synonyms, since different source systems use different terminology. eTASK uses the term "storey" for facility management.
After importing models into eTASK, you may find that the BIM Explorer (Floor Plan menu, Floors menu) or the Portal (Property Explorer, Floor List) contains more floors than expected. The reason for this is that multiple levels in the model are defined as “building floors” and are consequently exported as levels to the IFC (ifcBuildingStorey). This frequently occurs when working with Revit, where multiple levels are defined for individual floor structures:

Autodesk Revit
If levels are not to be created as floors, it is sufficient in Revit to click on the level and, in the Properties dialog box under ID Data, uncheck the “Building Floors” parameter. For large models, this change can also be made centrally in the component list for levels.
Note: The level from which the placed objects derive their lower dependency should always be designated as a building floor. This prevents objects from being skipped in the display because their level lies below the building floor.
Example: Walls that reference the “Top Edge of Rough Floor” level will not be displayed in the BIM Explorer if the “Top Edge of Finished Floor” is specified as the building floor.

ArchiCAD
According to our research, excess floors cannot be deselected for IFC export in ArchiCAD. Consequently, only one floor should be created in ArchiCAD for each story.
Although it is possible to exclude elements during IFC export based on their assigned floors (see Figure 3), empty floors are still created in the IFC file and are imported into eTASK (see Figure 4).

If you know of a way to disable floors for IFC export from ArchiCAD, we look forward to hearing from you at: support@etask.de
