In modeling tools such as Revit, ArchiCAD, or Allplan, users can set the interface language. Depending on the language setting of the respective tool, internal property sets and their contents are translated into the selected interface language.

In eTASK, it is necessary to always publish revisions of IFC files for a building in the same language in order to map the attribute values correctly.

An example of this is when a first revision of a building model is published as an IFC file in German on the FM portal. The configuration of dynamic mapping is based on this IFC file. For a subsequent publication (second revision), an IFC file in English is uploaded. In this case, dynamic mapping can no longer take place because, due to the different languages, the correct assignment of model data to the eTASK database cannot be found:

Note: The language of the modeling tool used during the export of an IFC file should be defined in the Client Information Requirements (AIA) before starting a project using the BIM method.

By opening an .IFC file with, for example, a text editor, you can check the first data line to determine which language setting was selected in the modeling tool from which the IFC file originated.
