Defining object types is the first step in assigning custom attributes to an object.
Procedure in the FM Portal
If they do not already exist, create field names for the individual attributes (System Settings - Objects - Object Catalog - Individual Attributes Configuration - Individual Attributes).
In the menu, click Control Panel - Objects - Object Catalog - Object Types. The list of all registered object types opens in the workspace.
Open the object type you want to assign custom attributes to.
In the Individual Attributes info area, click New... . A form where you can define individual attributes for the object type opens in the workspace.
Fill out the form. There are five data types to choose from:
Dropdown: The custom attribute is displayed as a dropdown in the object’s form. When you create a dropdown, use the Attribute Values for Dropdowns section to define the options that should appear in this field within the object.
Bit field: The custom attribute is displayed as a checkbox in the object’s form.
Date: The custom attribute is displayed as a date picker in the object’s form.
Text: The custom attribute is displayed in the object’s form as an input field where you can enter up to 250 characters.
Number: The custom attribute is displayed in the object’s form as an input field in which only numbers can be entered.
Click Save in the toolbar.
Close the form. To define additional custom attributes for the object type, repeat steps 4 through 6 as many times as you like.
Tip: When copying existing custom object attributes, you can use the corresponding checkboxes in the Control Panel to copy them to another object. If you want to apply your changes to all object types, click Tools / Update Custom Attributes for ALL OT.
Dropdown menu showing "Individuelle Attribute für ALLE OT aktualisieren" option highlighted in red
The object type now has custom attributes. Every object assigned to a matchcode of this object type will receive these attributes as input fields.
