Create service ticket / BCF file from the BIM Explorer

You can create a service ticket for any object in your building model directly from the BIM Explorer. This automatically generates a BCF file, which can then be sent and opened and viewed in other BIM viewers.

Requirements

  • Your company has a license for eTASK.Serviceticket

  • eTASK.Serviceticket is set up

Procedure in the FM Portal

Path to the starting point: Properties/CAD/BIM - BIM Explorer

  1. Open the building model for which you want to create a service ticket.

  2. Select the object for which you want to create a service ticket.

  3. In the options bar on the left side, click the info icon to display additional information. A new information panel will appear on the right side of the screen.

  1. Click the tool icon in the upper-right corner. A service ticket will be created.

  1. In the newly created service ticket, details regarding the location, building, and room are already pre-filled. Information about the selected object is stored in the Description field. You can add your request to this. Also, select at least one category and, if applicable, a subcategory.

  2. Click Save in the toolbar.

The service ticket has been created. You can find the BCF file in the service ticket under "Documents" and download it from there. You can import it into any program capable of displaying IFC models.

Tip: The BCF file contains the following information: Which elements should be shown or hidden; the visual marker of the object for which the file was created; the perspective and zoom factor used when creating the service ticket and thus the BCF file; and, if available, a comment on the object.
