Create department

Use this form to create records for the departments in your company. These will later be available for selection in the employee form. Also define the hierarchy of all departments by assigning one department as the parent of another.

Procedure in the FM Portal

Path to the starting point: Basic Data - Departments

  1. Click New in the toolbar.

  2. Enter a freely selectable abbreviation for the department in the Code field.

  3. Enter the internal name of the department in the Name field.

  4. In the Company field, select the company or government agency where the department is located.

Note: What is entered in the Department field determines which name will be printed on the door sign.

  1. Create all hierarchy levels in this way and arrange them in a hierarchical order. To do this, select the department that should be above this department in the Parent Department field.

Note: The parent department can only be selected if it has already been created.

In this form, you can also later see which employees work in the department.
