Create and edit data records directly from a form

You can often use a drop-down menu to create a record for this field directly, or to open, edit, or review the selected record.

1. Click this icon to edit the selected record.

2. Click this icon to create a new record. After you have created the record, you can select it directly in the original form without reloading it.

Note: The icon for editing the record only appears after you have selected a value in the selection field and clicked Save in the form's toolbar.

Note: The icons only appear if you have permissions for the target table.
