Mapping Attributes

Support Center

IC11199

Navigation to this function

Use this form to manage the detailed link between IFC attributes and eTASK features. For each mapping rule, assign the IFC attributes to the corresponding eTASK database columns and define the path in the IFC schema via which the attribute is read. For Revit or ArchiCAD models, you can alternatively use the native attribute names from these BIM authoring tools. This configuration controls which data is transferred to which eTASK fields during model import.

identification

Basic information on the assignment of the attribute mapping to the higher-level mapping rule and control of activation.
PropertyDescription
mapping ruleAssigned mapping rule (IFC entity to eTASK object type) for which this attribute link applies and is applied during import
Active?Control whether this attribute link is to be executed automatically during model import or is temporarily deactivated

ifc

Definition of the IFC attribute and its path in the IFC schema in accordance with ISO 16739 for importing data from BIM models.
PropertyDescription
IFC PathComplete path in the IFC schema for localizing the attribute (e.g. "IsDefinedBy.RelatingPropertyDefinition.HasProperties.NominalValue"), which uniquely describes the position of the value in the IFC data structure
IFC attributeName of the IFC attribute (e.g. "Name", "Description", "LoadBearing") that is to be read from the BIM model and assigned to the eTASK feature

eTASK

Assignment to the target table and target feature in eTASK into which the data from the IFC attribute is to be imported.
PropertyDescription
Table/FormSelection of the eTASK table or form into which the data from the BIM model is to be imported (e.g. objects, rooms, floors)
table columnSelection of the target column or target feature in the eTASK table into which the value of the IFC attribute is transferred during import

BIM Tools

Alternative attribute mappings for BIM authoring tools to directly use native parameter names from Revit or ArchiCAD instead of IFC paths.
PropertyDescription
RevitNative Revit parameter name (e.g. "Comments", "Mark", "Family and Type") for the mapping if the BIM model originates from Autodesk Revit and native parameters are to be used
ArchicadNative ArchiCAD parameter name for the mapping if the BIM model originates from Graphisoft ArchiCAD and native parameters are to be used

Mapping configuration

The mapping configuration contains settings for assigning BIM attributes to database fields. It controls how information from the BIM model is transferred to the database and structured.
PropertyDescription
ConfigurationThe mapping rule is configured here.
