Automatic groups are a specific type of permission group that are included in the product scope upon delivery of the respective product to which they apply. eTASK has created them for you to provide a simple foundation for your permission management. Simply assigning your users to automatic groups is often enough to grant appropriate permissions. Additionally, permissions for new reports and forms are automatically granted to the automatic groups after each update, ensuring that users assigned to the permission group automatically receive appropriate permissions for the new features.
Automatic groups are divided into the following types:
Read: Users in this group may view all functions related to the product (see the form structure via the Help icon) and read the data within them.
Write: Users in this group have the same capabilities as in the "Read" group, but can also edit data not listed in the Control Panel menu
Administrator: Administrators can edit all data related to the product (including data under Control Panel).
If necessary, refer to the notes on the form structure. You can find these by clicking the Help icon in the upper right corner of the portal.
Automatic groups are updated with every update; that is, when new forms or reports are added to the product, the corresponding permissions are already integrated into the automatic groups.
Note: If you work with manually configured groups instead of automatic groups, permissions for new forms and reports will not be automatically assigned after an update. You must therefore add them manually.
As with any other rights group, it is possible to configure the rights of the automatic groups (e.g., to speed up the FM portal for users in the respective group). Use the automatic groups as a basis for custom rights groups.
Note: You must change the code of the automatic group if you want to use it as the basis for your custom permission group. Otherwise, your customization will be deleted with the next update of the automatic groups.
Note: To make the changes to the automatic groups take effect, you must update the automatic groups.
