Use this form to manage the individual test steps of your quality assurance tests. Define the acceptance criteria, test procedures and required tools for each test step in order to carry out standardized and reproducible tests. For BITV tests (accessibility), you can assign the test steps to the corresponding test areas and use them for the accessibility declaration.
Identification
Basic information for clear identification and technical classification of the test step, including test step number, test assignment, test area and acceptance criteria.| Property | Description |
| URL to the documentation | Optionally enter a link to further documentation or external test guidelines (e.g. BITV test steps, W3C guidelines) to provide the testers with additional information. |
| Description | Enter a concise short description of the test step that summarizes its purpose and scope. |
| Test objective/acceptance criteria | Define precisely here the acceptance criteria that must be met for the test step to be rated as at least "more likely than not achieved". |
| Test type | Select the test type to which this test step belongs (e.g. BITV test, functional test, performance test). |
| Test area | Select the test area to which this test step is assigned. For BITV tests, the test areas correspond to the legally prescribed categories used in the accessibility declaration. |
| Test step number | Assign a unique test step number here for quick identification and referencing of the test step in tests and documentation. |
| Designation | Enter the meaningful name of the test step here, which clearly identifies its test objective. |
| Applicable? | Activate this checkbox if the test step is currently valid and is to be used in tests. Deactivated test steps remain saved, but are no longer used for new tests. |
Test methodology
Detailed instructions for carrying out the test step, including explanations of the scope of the test, the specific test procedure and the required test tools.| Property | Description |

| Required testing tools | List here all tools, software or aids that are required to carry out this test step (e.g. screen readers, browser plug-ins, analysis tools). |
