Navigation to this function
Configure the automatic synchronization of your personnel data from Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) in eTASK here. You define access data, import filters and parameters to ensure a targeted and secure import of employee data. This enables centralized management of user master data and ensures that your HR system is always up to date.
Identification
Basic configuration features of the import connection to Microsoft Entra ID. Define here whether the import is active, assign a unique code and a name. Use the import filter to control which users are to be imported (e.g. by department or user type), and use the Expand parameter to specify which additional information is to be retrieved from Entra ID.| Property | Description |
| Import filter | OData filter expression to restrict the users to be imported from Entra ID. Use Microsoft Graph API syntax to import specific user groups (e.g. "department eq 'IT'" or "accountEnabled eq true"). Leave the field empty to import all users. |
| Expand parameters | Microsoft Graph API parameter for retrieving additional linked information (e.g. "manager" for superiors or "memberOf" for group memberships). Use this parameter to obtain extended user data in one call and to optimize synchronization. |
| Active | Activate or deactivate the automatic import from this Entra ID connection. If deactivated, the configuration is retained but no synchronization is performed. |
| Code | Unique identification code for this Entra ID import configuration. Use a concise, descriptive code for quick identification (e.g. "ENTRA-HAUPT" or "AZURE-EXTERN"). |
| Designation | Meaningful description of this import configuration. Specify here what this connection is used for (e.g. "Main site employees" or "External service providers"). |
| Internal ID (Data ID) | Unique identification number of this data record assigned by the system. This value is generated automatically and is used for internal database linking. |
Access data
Authentication information for secure access to your Microsoft Entra ID. Enter the login data provided by Microsoft Azure for your registered application (App Registration) here. This data enables eTASK to access your user data via the Microsoft Graph API. The password is stored in encrypted form.| Property | Description |
| Password | Client Secret (secret client key) of your Azure app registration. Create this password in the Azure portal under "App registrations" > [Your app] > "Certificates & secrets". Important: Make a note of the value immediately after creating it, as it will no longer be displayed later. The password is stored in encrypted form in eTASK. |
| Remark | Free text field for additional information, notes or documentation purposes for this import configuration. Use this field to record contact persons, change history or special configuration details, for example. |
| Directory ID (client) | Unique identifier (GUID) of your Microsoft Entra ID tenant. You can find this ID in the Azure portal under "Microsoft Entra ID" > "Properties" as "Tenant ID" or "Tenant ID". It uniquely identifies your organization to Microsoft. |
| Application ID (Client) | Unique identifier (GUID) of your application registered in Azure (app registration). You can find this ID in the Azure portal under "App registrations" > [Your app] > "Overview" as "Application ID (client)" or "Application (client) ID". This ID identifies your eTASK integration with Microsoft. |
