The Settings function opens the dialog for global settings.
User Settings
Delete log files after specified number: Here you can specify the number of log files generated after which the oldest file is automatically deleted. The directory for the log files is created under the Windows
user. Alternatively, the log data can also be found in the Room Book under the “Log” tab.Use text fragments for SVG (Yes/No): This affects text formatting:
Yes: If text fragments are used, the formatting of individual letters or words in an MText is carried over to the SVG; however, the position may vary slightly.
No: If the use of text fragments is disabled, the positions are exact, but the text can only be formatted as a whole; for example, individual words in bold will not be displayed in the SVG.SVG Line Style Repetition Limit: Limits the number of repetitions of line style definitions to the specified maximum value, i.e., the number of repetitions a dashed line segment is allowed to have. The recommended value is 500 at a scale of 1:100 (other scales, such as 1:50, are not practical in the SVGs).
SVG with Comments (Yes/No): Generates comments in the SVG files to aid in error analysis.
SVG without formatting (Yes/No): Generates compact SVG files without indentations and line breaks.
Boundary in Percent (Integer): Defines the boundary of a linked element that remains visible when zooming in on an object, based on the largest dimension to be displayed and the screen aspect ratio. This means that when zooming in on the room in the graphic in eTASK, the room is always displayed with a margin (e.g., 10%). This margin also applies to the room graphics in the reports.
Diagnostics
Info for Development (Yes/No): Display additional information for development purposes.
If the value is "Yes," the "Handle" information is displayed in the info window on mouseover.Delete temporary files (Yes/No): Delete the temporary files generated during processing.
Enable action tracing (Yes/No): Tracing between the database and the interface can be automatically enabled. This is required for functional analysis. It should be enabled when debugging (using SELECTENTITYBYHANDLE) is required in the program.
User Interface Settings
Show instructions (Yes/No): Display the instructions (room import, room link) first in the link dialog.
Remember dialog position (Yes/No): Remember the position and size of the dialogs. (Note: Do not use this if two monitors are in use.)
Support for advanced navigation (Yes/No) (Jump navigation): In the Room Book palette, the functions for advanced navigation (jump navigation to, for example, parallel nodes of the spatial structure in site plans) are displayed.
Duplicate XMLs and duplicate links are created. This should only be used for large plans with different section plans.
Room graphics
Resolution of the room graphic in pixels: A resolution between 512px and 8096px can be selected for the GIF room graphics, which are then used in eTASK in reports or info panels. A lower value is recommended for display in the info panel; for report output, a higher resolution may result in better print quality.
Recommended setting: 2024Width-to-height ratio of room graphics:
Here, the ratio between the width and height of the room graphics to be generated can be preset.
The default setting is 1.41—i.e., √2—which results in a scalable and rotatable aspect ratio similar to DIN A formats.
