1. Opening the Interface in AutoCAD
Using the eTASK interface for AutoCAD (versions 2021 through 2024), you can supplement your building data with graphical information. Once the add-in is installed, the “eTASK” section appears in the ribbon:
The eTASK–AutoCAD interface is ideal for graphically representing structured data from the eTASK Room Book for facility management.
By linking a room to a polygon in AutoCAD, you can always determine the room’s location within the building in the Graphics tab (Room Book module).
The room polygon contains the area information. This quantity is provided when connecting to the database.
The database provides the room number and room description for room labeling. You can generate not just one room label, but multiple ones, e.g., with the cost center or with the employees.
Your work is supported by graphical visualization of information, indicated by the different color schemes of the rooms.
Publishing a linked DWG as an SVG graphic enables graphical navigation within the eTASK interface. In addition to room polygons, you can also link blocks for fixtures and areas to eTASK. The block attributes are entered as properties for the fixture or surface. This allows all blocks for lights to be automatically entered into the database based on the room polygon in which they are located.
2. Help
In every interface dialog, you can access the online help by clicking the question mark icon
or the Help button
.
3. Interface Commands
In the AutoCAD command line, interface commands begin with "ETASK.*".
Ribbon
The ribbon includes the following sections:
Editing Shortcuts
In the Room Book, rooms can be created, edited, searched for, selectively linked to the floor plan, or unlinked.
Using the Import Rooms function, rooms can be automatically imported from the floor plan into eTASK and linked.
If the rooms already exist in eTASK, polygons can be automatically linked to the eTASK rooms later using Link Rooms.
Using the Import Blocks function, AutoCAD blocks can be imported into eTASK as room furnishings and areas.
Labels, Login/Logout, and Drawing Settings
The "Generate Labels" function allows you to generate MText and block labels.
If rooms have been modified, the labels in the drawing can be updated using the Update Labels function.
If new rooms have been added or room layouts have been changed, the labels in the drawing can be deleted using the "Clean Up Labels" function.
Use the Log In function to establish a connection to an eTASK portal.
Use Log Out to close the connection. In the drawing dialog, enter basic information regarding area calculation and the linked layers.
Use the "Label" function to create label definitions. First, create an MText label and customize its attributes—such as layer, color, font, and size—according to your preferences.
General
In the Global Settings function, the requirements for working with the interface must be entered once for each file.
Interface is up to date: If the eTASK instance is updated and a new AutoCAD interface version is available in the update, this will be indicated here.
